Nov. 19, 2003

The Atlantic Sun Conference recognized Florida Atlantic University's Iana Andonova and Abby Miner on the 2003 Volleyball All-Conference Teams. After being named the 2002 A-Sun Freshman-of-the-Year, Andonova picked up First Team honors in her sophomore campaign, while Miner, a senior, picked up her second consecutive second-team honor.

A middle blocker from Margate, FL, Andonova finished the season with 320 kills and a .269 hitting percentage. She led the squad with 46 service aces, which ranked her third in the conference, and she finished fifth in total points. During the season, she picked up All-Tournament honors at the DoubleTree Boca Bash after averaging 3.20 kills and 0.80 blocks per game and also at the UConn Autumn Classic where she had 42 kills, six aces, 36 digs and six blocks in three matches.

Miner led the team in kills (335) and in kills per game (3.53) as she helped guide the Owls to a 12-15 record. Miner completed the season with 37 service aces and 21 blocks from the outside. She was ranked in the top-10 in the A-Sun in kills per game. At the UConn Autumn Classic she compiled 52 kills, a .277 hitting percentage and five aces to be named to the All-Tournament Team.

Seeded no. 5, FAU opens play at the Atlantic Sun Tournament on Friday against no. 4 Mercer at 11 am.
