Volleyball Hosts A-Sun Tournament Nov 16-17

After completing the regular-season with an 11-15, 7-3 A-Sun record, Florida Atlantic University will enter the Atlantic Sun Tournament seeded fourth. The tournament will be hosted by FAU on November 16-17 with the first match of the weekend taking place on Friday at 10 am. The Lady Owls will face Jacksonville University in that match.

FAU and JU faced each other in the first A-Sun match of the season. FAU won the contest in four-games behind 11 kills by Gracie Heim, while Marja Valkeavuori, a senior from Riihamki Finland, picked up 14 digs. Jacksonville finished the season with an 8-16, 6-4 A-Sun record. They are seeded fifth entering the tournament.

Georgia State enters the weekend with a no.1 seed after losing only one conference match to the no. 6 seed, Samford. UCF is ranked second, losing their only match to Georgia State. Campbell University, 16-8, 7-3 A-Sun earned a no. 3 seed by defeating the Lady Owls who have the same conference record. Samford rounds out the field with the final seed.

There will be four matches played on Friday with the Championship Match held at noon on Saturday. The A-Sun Champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
