Andonova Named A-Sun Player-of-the-Week

For the second time this year, Florida Atlantic University's Iana Andonova has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player-of-the-Week. The junior from Margate, FL picked up her 1000th career kill on Friday as the team is off to the program's best start at 15-4.

Andonova started the week with a pair of double-digit kill performances against Middle Tennessee and Miami. On Friday, Andonova recorded a 12-kill, two-ace performance in FAU's 3-0 sweep of Lipscomb, while having an impressive .458 attack percentage. Against the Lady Bisons, Andonova recorded her 1000th career kill. On Saturday, with first place on the line, the Lady Owls defeated Belmont 3-2 as the junior recorded 18 kills and a season-high six service aces, with a .469 attack percentage and maintained an undefeated record in the conference at 5-0.

For the week, Andonova averaged 3.87 kills per game to go along with a .383 attack percentage, collecting nine service aces and six blocks. Andonova leads the A-Sun with 4.38 kills per game and 0.58 service aces per contest, while standing second in the league with a .350 attack percentage.
