Above The Net

We just arrived back from the Drake Tournament in Iowa after three loses in the tournament. We started out with Furman and played very strong the first game, winning 30-15. Games two, three, and four we began to back off and it ended up hurting us. Furman pushed and took the three remaining games. The next morning we took on Wisconsin-Green Bay and lost in three. The second game was very tight and ended 30-28. We played better that game, but failed to push and finish the game. Our last match was against Drake, the tournament host. We lost this match, but on every game point that Drake had we sided-out. Kala Abdell and Katie Evanyo kept swinging on the outside and forcing Drake to keep pushing for game-point during the match. Even though we lost, it was nice to see that we were finally starting to fight back at the end of games. It definitely proved that our character as a team was strengthening.

This evening we practiced and focused mainly on our defense. We have two more days to prepare for Orlando, where we will take on UCF, Montana State, UNF, and Central Michigan. We're working on a lot, but every match is getting better and better.
