Final Stats

BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to rival FIU in straight sets on Saturday.

The Owls trailed by as many as five points in the first set, but rallied to tie the set. The set was tied at 28 when FIU took the next two points to win the set.

The second set was tied at eight before the Golden Panthers took eight of the next 10 points to forge a 16-10 lead, eventually winning 25-14.

The Owls and Golden Panthers were once again tied in the third set, but despite FAU's best efforts, FIU won to complete the sweep.

Krystena Castro had seven kills in her match as an Owl. FAU completes its 2009 campaign with a 6-20 record, but is expected to return four starters from this year's squad.
