Volleyball Falls to Jacksonville in Five Games

Nov. 8, 2003

Final Stats

Abby Miner's career-high 25 kills were not enough as Florida Atlantic University's volleyball team dropped its final conference match of the season at Jacksonville University in a close five-game match. With the 27-30, 27-30, 30-25, 30-28, 10-15 loss the Owls will enter the Atlantic Sun Tournament as a fifth seed.

FAU managed to pick up 10 more kills and out dug the Dolphins 81-57. It was 14 extra attacking errors and 11 Jacksonville service aces that hurt the Owls as JU picked up its second consecutive win over FAU.

Krista Klawitter (Bowmanville, Ontario) picked up her first double-double of the season as she got the start as the setter. She distributed a career-high 62 assists and 18 digs. Iana Andonova (Margate, FL) also picked up a double-double with 16 kills and 12 digs.

Eva Stoilova led the Dolphins with 18 kills and four service aces.

Florida Atlantic will close out the regular season on Tuesday at Florida International at 7 pm as the Owls try to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Golden Panthers earlier this season.
