Volleyball Defeats Bethune-Cookman 3-0

Final Stats

Florida Atlantic University extended its winning streak to six matches with a 3-0 (30-16, 30-26, 30-28) win over Bethune-Cookman College Saturday afternoon in Daytona Beach, FL. Iana Andonova and Kelly Paiva both had 15 kills for the Owls.

FAU (19-4) never trailed in the first two games and held a .469 hitting percentage in the first game. In game two Bethune-Cookman came within one at 17-18 and hung around until a B-CC attacking error ended the game.

Bethune-Cookman (10-10) took its first lead of the match in game three and led 23-20 before FAU went on a 9-2 run to regain the lead and defeat Bethune-Cookman for the 25th straight time.

Cayse Kaveny finished the afternoon with 10 kills and Makra Condill and Lindsey Bell led the team defensively with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.

Vonetta Simpson finished with 10 kills and a .529 hitting percentage for the Wildcats. Melissa Sanders and Irie Cormer finished with 10 and 11 digs, respectively.

FAU returns to Atlantic Sun play next weekend when its host Stetson and Jacksonville on Friday and Saturday. The Owls can secure a number one seed at the Atlantic Sun Tournament with one win.
