Volleyball Falls to UCF 3-0

Oct. 21, 2003

Final Stats

Tanya Jarvis collected 13 kills and 11 digs for the UCF Golden Knights as they defeated Florida Atlantic University 30-27, 30-22, 30-24 and remained undefeated in Atlantic Sun play. The Owls were led by Iana Andonova's fourth double-double of the season. The sophomore middle blocker collected a team-high 13 kills and 10 digs as the Owls fall to 11-10, 5-1 A-Sun, while UCF improves to 15-4, 6-0 A-Sun.

Jarvis used two straight service aces in game one to break a 27-27 tie and proceeded to serve out the game and give the Golden Knights the momentum heading into the second game.

The Owls spotted UCF a 6-0 lead before a Andonova (Margate, FL) kill gave FAU its first point of game two. The Golden Knights dominated the game outhitting FAU .353 to .111 and never relinquished the lead until FAU went up 10-9 in game three, again on an Andonova kill. She is second on the squad this season with 236 kills.

UCF quickly regained its composure and took its sixth consecutive match from Florida Atlantic and more importantly moved in front of the Owls in the conference race.

FAU has a week off before hosting the University of Miami on October 29 at FAU Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7 pm.
