The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to Arkansas State in four games on Saturday night.

The Owls (6-16, 3-9 Sun Belt), who were playing in FAU Arena for only the second time all season, were able to recover from a three point deficit early in game one and take the game 30-26 behind the strength of seven Krystena Castro kills. Arkansas State stormed out to an 11-1 lead early in game three and appeared to be on their way to an easy victory in game two. However, after the lead swelled to 11 at 19-8, the FAU responded and closed to within four at 28-24. Two consecutive Robin Aaron kills thwarted any hopes of an FAU comeback.

The Indians started quickly in game three, building themselves a 14-7 lead. The Owls did not go away and managed to tie the game on three occasions down the stretch. An Erin Neeley serving run, aided by three Mafo Joelle kills helped ASU take the game 30-25 and seize a two games to one lead.

FAU was able to match ASU's intensity at the beginning of the fourth game and as a result exchanged the lead several times in the game's early going. The team were tied at seven when the Indians went on an 18-10 scoring spree on their way to a 30-24 win to closeout the match.

The Owls hit the road next weekend when they travel to Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky. Friday's match against Middle Tennessee is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
