Volleyball Continues to Roll in A-Sun Play with a 3-0 Win

Oct. 18, 2003

Final Stats

Jeana Boyle tallied her eighth double-double of the season to lead Florida Atlantic University to a 3-0 win over Campbell University on Saturday afternoon. The senior from Boca Raton, FL dished out 46 assists and 13 digs to lead the Owls to the 30-18, 30-11, 30-20 victory. With the win, FAU remains undefeated in conference play at 5-0 and improves to 11-9 on the season. The Camels meanwhile fall to 2-19, 1-4 A-Sun.

The Camels hung around in game one and trailed 16-19 before Florida Atlantic went on a 11-2 run to take the early 1-0 advantage. FAU used a .410 hitting percentage with only four errors to gain the momentum and it carried over into game two as the Owls rallied off 10 points before the Camels even had a chance to get on the board. Lauren McHugh (Lighthouse Point, FL) led the charge for the second night in a row from the service line where she collected four service aces.

The offense was just as aggressive in game two and only committed one error with 19 kills in 26 attempts for a .692 hitting percentage in the game, the highest of the season for FAU.

Game three was much of the same as the Camels fell to their fourth A-Sun foe.

Iana Andonova (Margate, FL) tallied 21 kills and a .586 hitting percentage from the middle for Florida Atlantic, while outside hitter Abby Miner (Largo, FL) pounded 13 kills of her own on the way to an impressive .600 hitting percentage.

Campbell was led by Tabitha Turner's seven kills and Tawnee Hensel's seven digs and 21 assists.

UCF visits Florida Atlantic on Tuesday evening, as the two undefeated teams in the Atlantic Sun will take the court at 7 pm.
