Oct. 12, 2002

Final Stats

Despite missing middle blocker Jessica Kahn, Florida Atlantic University rallied to a three game victory over Atlantic Sun member Campbell University. The Owls managed a .372 hitting percentage, the highest of the season, against the 2-13, 0-5 Camels.

FAU (10-12, 5-2 A-Sun) kept Campbell in check as they recorded a .000 hitting percentage in games one and three and only mustered a.188 percentage in game two to post 22 points. Final scores were 30-14, 30-22, 30-17.

Abby Miner (Largo, FL) and Iana Andonova (Margate, FL) both recorded 12 kills and only one error as they finished with .524 hitting percentages. Andonova also used an aggressive serve to pick apart the Campbell receivers as she had five service aces, a career-high for the freshman.

Danyielle Smith led the team defensively with one block solo and five block assists to add to six digs. The senior from Seminole, FL had the second biggest blocking match of her career.

Jeana Boyle ran the offense and finished with 27 assists in three games.

Kara Lewis who finished with a double-double, 10 digs and 10 kills led Campbell. Lewis, the only senior on a young Camel squad completed the match with a .529 percentage. Only two Campbell players finished with positive percentages.

The Owls continue Atlantic Sun play on Tuesday when they return home to host Stetson University on October 15, at 7 pm. The two squads met earlier this season at the FAU/Marriott Boca Bash when FAU won in three games.
