Boyle Breaks Assists Record in Volleyball's 3-1 Win

Senior setter, Jeana Boyle (Boca Raton, FL) collected 51 assists and broke the Florida Atlantic University career assists record as the Owls defeated Troy State University 3-1 Saturday afternoon in Troy, AL. With the win, FAU remains undefeated in conference play and improves to 9-9, 3-0 in the A-Sun, while Troy falls to 8-8, 1-4 in the conference.

Boyle, who now has 3,001 career assists, broke the old record of 2990 set by Heather Chandler in 1999. Boyle was one of two Owl players to finish with a double-double after posting 14 digs.

Giovana Milaneze (Sao Paulo, Brazil) completed her first double-double of the season after finishing with a season-high 16 kills, 14 digs and 4 blocks.

A .529 hitting percentage by FAU in game four was fueled by Abby Miner who finished the contest with a team-high 19 kills.

Troy State was led by Haven Triboulet with 22 kills and Rachel Hassan with 13 digs.

FAU returns home next weekend to play Gardner-Webb University on Friday at 7 pm in an Atlantic Sun matchup. The game will be the first of a seven-game home stretch for the Owls.
