Final Stats

On the second day of Florida Atlantic University's Georgia road trip, the team fell to Georgia State University in three games 30-28, 30-21, 30-26 as GSU posted a .310 hitting percentage in the match. After dropping Saturday's match the Owls fall to 3-2 in Atlantic Sun and 8-12 overall while the Panthers are 4-1 in conference play after suffering their first loss to UCF on Friday. Their season record stands at 14-11.

FAU was led by their middle hitters who collected 11 kills each. Jessica Kahn and Iana Andonova posted .647 and .381 averages. Kahn, a senior from Apopka, FL, did not commit any errors as she ran the quick attack 17 times.

Defensively, the Owls had five players post five or more digs but lacked momentum as GSU led in total digs 43-38.

Outside hitter, Molly Sapp, finished with 23 kills for GSU. The junior All-Conference selection in 2001 finished with a .488 hitting percentage. Defensive specialists, Kumi Ishiyama and Natalie Coley both recorded double-digit digs to give the Panthers the win. GSU was able to revenge their loss from last season when FAU defeated the Panthers in the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun Tournament.

Florida Atlantic will take a two-game road trip to NorthCarolina this weekend as they take on Gardner-Webb on Thursday before traveling to Buies Creek and Campbell University on Saturday.
