Volleyball on Five-Match Winning Streak

With two wins on Saturday, Florida Atlantic University is on a five-match winning streak with 3-0 wins over Lehigh and Stetson in DeLand. Kelly Paiva had two double-doubles on the day to lead FAU to a 5-1 record.

Paiva (Minas Gerais, BZ) led the team in digs in both matches with 10 against Lehigh and 12 versus A-Sun opponent Stetson (2-4). She came up with a career-high 16 kills against Lehigh and completed her second double-double with 13 kills against the Hatters.

FAU dominated the Mountain Hawks (1-9) with 16 service aces, one shy of the school record. Courtenay Kiebert (Hope, ID) finished with a career-high six aces in her second start of the season. The junior setter also posted 31 and 48 assists and averaged 12.22 assists per game for the weekend.

Against Stetson, Iana Andonova (Margate, FL) overpowered the Hatters as she hit .406 with 15 kills in 32 attempts. The junior middle blocker leads the team on the year with 91 kills and 16 aces.

The Owls will play their first home match of the year on Wednesday when they host USF at 7 pm.
