Sarauw's 20 Kills Leads FAU

Conway, SC-A career-high 20 kills from freshman Janelle Sarauw (St. Thomas, VI) was not enough as Florida Atlantic University was defeated by Clemson in four games at the Coastal Carolina Classic 28-30, 30-19, 26-30, 24-30. Sarauw hit .383 in the first match of the day for the Owls.

FAU (2-7) controlled the match and posted more kills, assists, service aces, digs and a higher hitting percentage than the Tigers. Clemson did control the net with 10 more blocks than the Owls.

Outside hitter Abby Miner (Largo, FL) finished with 18 kills, while Jeana Boyle posted her first double-double of the season with 48 assists and 13 digs. Lindsey Bell and Krista Klawitter led the defense for the second match in a row as the two dug up 18 and 13 balls, respectively.

Coastal Carolina will be the final opponent for FAU at the Coastal Carolina Classic. The two will meet this afternoon at 4 pm.
