Stats

The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team (0-1) opened the season with a four game loss to the University of Idaho (1-0) at the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. (30-22, 28-30, 27-30, 17-30) Jessica Kahn lead FAU with a .476 hitting percentage, two block solos and eight block assists. Jeana Boyle (Olympic Heights) made her debut as a Lady Owl with 41 assists.

The Lady Owls opened the match by hitting an impressive .500 in the first game, but the consistency of the Lady Vandals took FAU out of their game as Idaho held a .215 hitting percentage throughout the match.

With the new rally score and let serve rules, FAU was able to get 12 easy points off of Idaho missed serves. The Lady Owls also out blocked Idaho with 14 team blocks. Lindsey Overton, a freshman from Montrose, AL, lead the team with 16 digs in her college opener.

Florida Atlantic will play top-30 Notre Dame and Southwest Texas tomorrow at 12:30 and 4:30, respecitively.
