![]() Banged Up Owls Lose 4-1 To Eastern Michigan
March 5, 2005
BOCA RATON - The injury-plagued FAU women's tennis team fell to 1-4 on the season with a 4-1 loss to visiting Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Claudia Kecht picked up the only point for the Owls at No. 5 singles. Coach Alex Alcantara's squad currently contains five players who are either playing injured or coming off injuries that have forced them to miss significant time. Eastern Michigan (2-6) swept all three doubles matches before securing wins at the second, fourth, and sixth singles spot to complete the victory. FAU senior Alena Dvorakova led No. 69 Victoria Domina 6-3, 1-2 at No. 1 singles before the match was terminated because of the unassailable EMU lead. Kecht defeated Flavia Micati 6-4, 6-0 to end the Eagles' shutout bid.
