OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - For the second straight season, Florida Atlantic University's Nikki Myers has received All-America honors. The senior has been named a Louisville Slugger/NFCA Second Team All-American. Myers was also a Second Team selection as a junior.

Myers was selected to the team as one of three pitchers. She finished the year tied for the most wins in the nations while compiling a 36-7 record. She was also fifth in the nation in ERA (0.69) and strikeouts per seven innings (10.4). The latest honor comes after Myers was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Player-of-the-Year for the third straight season. She was also a First Team All-Region selection for the second consecutive year.

Myers finished her four-year FAU career holding nearly every major school pitching and batting record. Her record 437 strikeouts in 2002 gave her 1,376 for her career which places her third all-time in NCAA history. She tallied 10 career no-hitters, including a perfect game in 2002. At the plate, she led FAU this past season with a .368 batting average and 12 home runs. Her career batting average was .349 which included 54 homers and 174 RBIs.

The St. Petersburg, FL, remains one of 10 finalists for the USA Softball Player-of-the-Year Award. The list will be pared down to three on May 31 with the winner being announced June 7. Myers has also been invited to take part in a tryout for the National Team which will take place this summer in California.

Florida Atlantic finished the 2002 season with a 62-13 record. The wins were a team record and were the most by any team in the nation as FAU won its sixth straight A-Sun Championship and advanced to its fourth straight NCAA Tournament in the process.
