Six FAU Women's Soccer Players Earn All-Conference Honors

Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team placed two players on the All-Conference First Team for the first time in FAU history. Rhonda Jones earns the honor for the first time in her career after scoring five goals this season and leading the team to a third place finish in the Atlantic Sun Conference. After being named to the Second Team last season, Lisanne Peart was named First Team All-Conference. She scored six times and assisted on two goals to finish as the co-leader in total points.

Molly Keating (GK), Krista Fine and Janine Alyward were named Second Team All-Conference. Keating, who was placed on the All-Freshman Team in 2000, held a 1.17 goals against average. Fine, a sophomore from Delray Beach, FL, was the only defender from FAU who earned honors. The other co-leader in total points, Janine Alyward was named to the Second Team and All-Freshmen Team.

Brandi Hermann was the other player who earned All-Freshmen honors after scoring two goals and posting six assists.

The no. 3 seed Lady Owls will play no.6, Samford University at 4:30 pm on Thursday in the first-round of the A-Sun Tournament being held in Orlando, Florida.
