Women's Soccer to Host Final Two Home Matches

Oct. 23, 2007

BOCA RATON, FL - Five Florida Atlantic women's soccer players will be recognized prior to Sunday's match against Arkansas State.

Taylor Browning, Monique Cabrera, Michele Fazzari, Susanna Lehtinen and Alicia Tirelli will be honored for their contributions to the FAU soccer program before the final home match against the Indians.

This weekend's games are vital to the Owls if they hope to improve their seeding for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. FAU currently stands eighth in the conference and would be the final team to make the post-season tournament, which will be hosted by South Alabama.

Friday night the Owls host UALR. The Trojans (9-8, 4-4 Sun Belt) are led by reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Grace Rich, whose two goals against North Texas helped UALR beat the Mean Green for the first time in program history. The Owls won last year's contest in Little Rock, 2-0.

Sunday's match against Arkansas State will be FAU's final home contest of the season and will be a rematch of last season's showdown when current seniors Monique Cabrera and Alicia Tirelli accounted for all three goals in a 3-1 win in Jonesboro.

Friday's match against UALR will start at 7 p.m. and Sunday's game with Arkansas State begins at noon. Both games will be available via GameTracker on fausports.com.
