March 14, 2005 Day 4: Today was our last game on the trip. It was against the University of San Francisco and the game was at 12:30 so we had to get up and grab a light breakfast before we headed out to the fields. USF never called or contacted coach before we headed out to San Francisco, so we didn't even know if we had a game or not. When we showed up, the men's team was still practicing and there was no sign of the other team, but finally they showed up and we played. We lost 3-1 and although we ended up tying one game and losing another, we still played very well and found a lot of things that we need to improve. That is what these trips are for anyway, to look for those little things that you would have never noticed until then. Coach said he was pleased with the games overall and proud of the effort that we put into each match. We're going to have a strong team next season and I can't wait already! Afterwards the girls went to a BBQ at Cayse's house, one of the volleyball girls. They had a pretty good time eating and playing some volleyball. I wasn't there because today was the last time I would see my family till the end of June so I spent the rest of the night with them walking around Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf. I had a really good time, as always, and it made me miss home even more. I cannot wait till I get to go back home and see my family again!
When I got back to the hotel Alicia called me and asked where I was. I found out they were just a block away near Fisherman's Wharf so Josh came and walked me over there to meet up with the rest of the girls. They spent a lot of time at the t-shirt shops looking for some souvenirs for family and friends. They also had some t-shirts made for themselves at another place and they all looked pretty cool. We then walked over to Walgreens and got some Ghirardelli chocolate and some other snacks for the hotel. Picked up some more little S.F. souvenirs for more family members and then headed out to go to bed at the hotel. Yet again, another really good day. |
