Day 1:

Well our trip to San Francisco has just begun and already we've had some interesting encounters. We're traveling with the FAU Volleyball team as well, although they will be staying longer and playing different teams. As usual there are the few people who were nervous before the flight, bustin' out the sleeping pills to knock themselves out. Thankfully I've never had a horrible experience with flying, which is good since traveling home to Seattle and back is a long distance. Rico "forgot" her cell phone, but technically didn't forget it entirely since she did have it in the van. Mo and Janeke are enjoying the new Sex & the City book "He's Just Not That Into You," - lots of fans of the show on this squad, after Friends that is.

This trip should be lots of fun and I'm really excited! I was born in California and have a lot of family around the Bay Area. There's so much to do in Cali and I already feel more comfortable going to the West Coast. My parents and older brother are flying down from Seattle and my grandpa is driving down from Oregon, so I'm totally stoked to see them all!

We were late arriving for our second flight and they held up the plane for about 20-30 minutes for our squad and the volleyball team, but we finally made it to San Francisco. All the girls were very excited to not only be on the West Coast, but on the ground and anticipating being fed. So after waiting about 45 minutes for cars, getting to the hotel (getting lost in the process... this is a normal occurrence), and walking around the city for about 20 minutes, we finally ate at a pizza joint just down the street from our hotel. Fed and tired from the long day, we all got to our rooms, brushed our teeth and headed off to bed.
