![]() Jones Earns Another Honor After Stellar Season
Feb. 6, 2004 BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's Rhonda Jones was named All-Southeast Region Third-Team for the third consecutive year as announced by Soccer Buzz Magazine. She becomes the first player in program history to earn Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Year honors, National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Southeast Region honors and Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region honors in the same year. The most decorated athlete in Lady Owls history, Jones has been named to the A-Sun First-Team three times, NSCAA All-Southeast Region Second-Team once and Third-Team twice and Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region Third-Team three times. Since starting her first match against UCF on September 13, 2000, the Lady Owl have a record of 54-19-2 (a .733 winning percentage). Jones set career highs in goals, points, and game-winning goals as she guided Florida Atlantic to its second consecutive A-Sun regular season title and third A-Sun championship final in four years. She led the team with eight goals and 19 points and tied for a team high three game-winning goals.
She finished her career at FAU in the top five in points (third), goals (fourth), assists (second), games played (second), games started (third), shots (fourth) and game-winning goals (fourth).
