Owls Named Nation's Leader in Shutout Percentage

BOCA RATON, FL -- With the 2005 women's soccer season completed, the NCAA has named Florida Atlantic University the national champion in team shutout percentage for the season.

The Owls finished the year with 16 shutouts over their 21-game season, a .792 percentage. The mark is the fifth-highest in NCAA history.

FAU allowed a total of 11 goals over those 21 games for a team goals-against average of 0.51. Megan Coyne and Jessica Badders split time in the net, while Coyne posted the fourth-lowest GAA in NCAA history at 0.28. She finished second in the nation this season, just 0.005 behind the nation's leader.
