Women's soccer unbeaten streak reaches eight with 6-2 win over Belmont

Nashville, TN - Nashville, TN Florida Atlantic women's soccer team extends unbeaten streak to eight games (7-0-1) with a 6-2 win over Belmont University.

Freshman Kelly Hoffmann opened the scoring for FAU with her second goal of the season, on a head ball for a 1-0 lead. Belmont tied the score as the teams went to halftime 1-1.

The lady Owls scored five goals in the second half to win their seventh straight game in the month of October. Sophomore Jessica Kmiotek lead the outburst scoring two goals giving her five on the season. Freshman Kari Kaiser had a goal and an assist. The goal was her fourth of the year.

Rounding out the scoring for FAU were freshman Brandi Herrmann and Stefanie Buckholt. Herrmann's goal was her second of the season while Buckholt found the goal for the first time as a collegiate player.

With the win FAU improves to 11-4-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

FAU concludes the regular season on Sunday October 28, at UT-Martin. Game time is scheduled for noon. Then it is on to the conference tournament which will be held at UCF, November 8-10.
