Women's Soccer versus GSU Ends in 1-1 Tie

BOCA RATON - Florida Atlantic University's women's soccer team (4-4-1, 1-2-1 A-SUN) out shot Georgia State University (2-7-1, 2-3-1 A-SUN), but could not pull a head in a match that ended 1-1 after 110 minutes of play, or two overtime periods.

The Lady Panthers scored first just 24 minutes into the match after Stephanie Fidenza rebounded a penalty kick. FAU evened the match two minutes later. Freshman, Janine Aylward scored via a header, set-up by Danielle Castro's free kick.

In all, FAU took 19 shots on goal to GSU's 10. Alyward led the squad with four shots while both Rhonda Jones and Autumn Baur had three each.

Molly Keating was in goal for the Lady Owls and earned four saves while GSU's Jennifer Espinal had five.

FAU will next travel to Stetson University, for a 4 p.m., Wednesday, conference contest.
