DiLeo Scores Twice, Owls Win

Sept. 25, 2005

Box Score

NASHVILLE, TN - Danielle DiLeo scored twice and the defense registered another shutout as the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team defeated Belmont 4-0 on Sunday.

The shutout was the team's fifth consecutive, seventh of the 2005 season. The Owls have now won five strait matches, and remain undefeated in Atlantic Sun Conference play (3-0).

Monique Cabrera scored the game's first goal in the 33rd minute when she blasted home a rebound to give FAU the 1-0 lead.

DiLeo then scored a pair of goals just 1:40 apart to give Florida Atlantic a 3-0 edge. Christina Chang would score the fourth goal in the 77th minute when her shot deflected off a Belmont defender and into the net.

Megan Coyne got the start in net and made three saves in the first half. Jessica Badders played the second half, and made two stops.

The win gives the Owls a five-game winning-streak, and bumps their record to 7-3-0.

FAU will continue their conference schedule on Friday, Sept. 30, when they travel to Jacksonville to face JU at 7 p.m.
