FAU drops 2-1 decision to Jacksonville University

Jacksonville, FL - ,Jacksonville, FL Florida Atlantic Women's soccer team drops a 2-1 decision to Jacksonville University in Atlantic-Sun Conference play.

FAU opened the scoring early in the first half on a goal by Junior forward Lisanne Peart at the 9:55 mark. The goal was assisted by Freshmen Brandi Herrmann. That goal held up for the 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half Jacksonville scored two goals in a 2:17 stretch to take a 2-1 lead. Jacksonville goals were scored by Kristen Holstrom (61:43) and Vanessa Illanes (64:05).

FAU was outshot in the contest by 16 - 9. Sophomore goalkeeper, Molly Keating made 5 saves in the match.

With the loss FAU falls to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in Atlantic-Sun play. Jacksonville moves to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

FAU plays its next two games at home, Thursday, September 27, against Campbell University. Game time is scheduled for 7pm. Then on Saturday, September 29, FAU takes on Georgia State University at 7pm. Both matches are Atlantic-Sun Conference games.
