Owls Hang Tough Against #3 UCLA

Sept. 4, 2005

Final Stats

BOCA RATON, FL - For 70 minutes, the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team played #3 UCLA to a scoreless tie.

Despite the fact that the Bruins were able to come away with a 2-0 victory, the Owls (2-2) showed they could play with one of the best teams in the country. Unfortunately, offense was an issue for Florida Atlantic, as they registered just one shot on goal, a strike by Christina Chang early in the first half.

Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Badders started her second consecutive game and made seven saves. Susanna Lehtinen's three-game scoring streak came to an end in the loss, as did Ashley Mannarino's two game assist streak. The three consecutive games with a goal tied Lehtinen for fifth in the school's history with eight other streaks.

Both of the Bruins' goals were scored by Danesha Adams, who now has seven on the season.

The Owls will now travel to Richmond, VA where they will take part in the VCU Tournament. They will play host VCU on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m.
