Chris Gnehm joined Florida Atlantic University women's soccer staff in the fall of 2002 with an emphasis on goalkeeping.
Gnehm began his coaching career in the summer of 1995 with the Soccer Plus Goalkeeping School in Wethersfield, CT. His collegiate coaching career began as the assistant men's and women's soccer coach at Averett University in Danville, VA, a position he held from 1996-1997. He then assumed a similar position at Monmouth University from 1998-1999. The following fall he was named the assistant head soccer coach at Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney, VA. Following a one-semester stint, Gnehm moved to Gardner-Webb University for the spring of 2000 and to Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA from the fall of 2000 to December 2001.
Gnehm obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Averett University in the spring of 1997. He is a member of the NSCAA and earned first team all-state soccer honors as a high school senior in 1992. The four-year collegiate starter for Averett also served as the team's captain from 1993-1996.
He currently holds Averett's school record for most saves in a single season (1996) career saves (1992-1996).
Away from the soccer field, Gnehm worked as an actor/model from 1979-1988. He as been a part of nearly 60 commercials, involving products such as Cracker Jack, Nike, Colleco Vision, Cheetos, Life Cereal and Jell-O Pudding. Print ads include Wrangler Kid, Gravy Train and FAO Schwartz.
