Women's Golf Team to Participate in South Florida's Waterlefe Invitational
Oct. 5, 2009
Coming off its first tournament title since 2007, the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team looks to continue its strong play in the 2009-10 season when it participates in the University of South Florida's Waterlefe Invitational on Monday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 6, in Bradenton. FAU was victorious over in-state rivals Florida Gulf Coast University, Jacksonville University and Bethune-Cookman University two weeks ago at the Eagles Golf Invitational. The tournament title was the first for the program since it captured the Xavier Invitational during the fall 2007-08 season. Consistent play paved the way for tournament victory as FAU recorded three top 10 finishes: Jennifer Norton tied for third after carding two rounds of 75 or better; Gina Larsen tied for fifth place; and Marilyne Cadieux placed seventh after three identical 79 rounds. Anna Wiklund and Elisabetta Bertini rounded the Owls' team efforts in the season-opening event.
The FAU women's golf team will participate in the Xavier Invitational, Pat Bradley Invitational and Stetson Invitational to round out the fall schedule.
