Coming off its first tournament title since 2007, the Florida Atlantic University women's golf team looks to continue its strong play in the 2009-10 season when it participates in the University of South Florida's Waterlefe Invitational on Monday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 6, in Bradenton.

FAU was victorious over in-state rivals Florida Gulf Coast University, Jacksonville University and Bethune-Cookman University two weeks ago at the Eagles Golf Invitational. The tournament title was the first for the program since it captured the Xavier Invitational during the fall 2007-08 season.

Consistent play paved the way for tournament victory as FAU recorded three top 10 finishes: Jennifer Norton tied for third after carding two rounds of 75 or better; Gina Larsen tied for fifth place; and Marilyne Cadieux placed seventh after three identical 79 rounds. Anna Wiklund and Elisabetta Bertini rounded the Owls' team efforts in the season-opening event.

The FAU women's golf team will participate in the Xavier Invitational, Pat Bradley Invitational and Stetson Invitational to round out the fall schedule.
