Women's Golf Hits the Pin with Two A-Sun Conference Honors
May 6, 2003 Macon, GA. - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team, fresh off of a second place finish at the Atlantic Sun Championship, saw two members earn Second Team All-Conference honors as announced by the A-Sun office Tuesday afternoon. Natalia Navarro was named to the Second Team for the second consecutive year while Anne Fraser was also named to the Second Team in her first year with the Lady Owls. The duo combined for 13 top-10 finishes and three first place finishes in 10 tournaments this season. Fraser and Navarro finished one and two for FAU in six of the eight tournaments they participated in together. Fraser, a senior from Deerfield Beach, FL, led the team in scoring average at 76.94 and finished third overall at the A-Sun Championship. The Rutgers University Transfer participated in eight tournaments, finishing in the top-10 six times while taking first twice, the FGCU Fall Invitational and the Hatter Spring Fling. Fraser recently finished first at the Broward County Women's Amateur Championship. Navarro ended the year second on the team in scoring average at 77.76. The junior from Medellin, Columbia, finished sixth at the A-Sun Championship and concluded the season with one win, the Lady Moc Classic, and seven top-10 finishes in 10 tournaments.
