Orlando, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team began the spring season in good form Monday as they finished the first round of the UCF Invitational with a 308 team total, good for fifth place in the 15-team tournament. Jessica Carafiello and Anna-Claire Daniels led the way for the Lady Owls, tying for 15th among individuals with opening round 75's. Sophomore Sandi MacDougall (77) and freshman June Bolme (81) also contributed with solid opening rounds. "This team got better and better in the fall, and they should continue to improve as the season goes on," head coach Joan Joyce said. "We had a good first-day score." The final round of the two-round event will be played on Tuesday.
