Women's Golf Team Shoots Lowest Fall Round to Place Fourth at Stetson Invitational

Posting the lowest round of the fall season, the Florida Atlantic University's women's golf team finished fourth in Stetson University's Holiday Inn Express/Hatter Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday with 18 holes in Deland. FAU tallied a 296 composite team score in the final round and accumulated a 912 team score over the 54-hole tournament, played over the course of two days on the 6,098-yard, par-72 Victoria Hill's Country Club course. That score was two strokes behind third place Florida Southern University and eight shots behind champion Stetson, the host team, in the seven-team tournament. The Owls were led by freshman Marilyne Cadieux, who carded a one-over-par 73 on Tuesday and recorded her career-best finish with a tie for fifth place after shooting three rounds in the 70s. She extended her streak of shooting a score in the 70s to nine rounds. Cadieux finished the tournament with a 225 score over the 54-hole event. Senior Jennifer Norton also carded a one-over-par 73 on Tuesday to finish in ninth place with a 228 score. She shot a 74 in Monday's first round. Junior Elisabetta Bertini fired three rounds in the 70s to compile a 230 score, and seniors Karine Bolme (232) and Gina Larsen (239) rounded out the team's performance.
