The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team finds itself 12 strokes from the lead following the first 36 holes of Stetson's University Holiday Inn Express/Hatter Invitational on Monday in Deland, Fla.

The Owls led the tournament's seven-team field after the morning 18 holes on the 6,098-yard, par-72 Victoria Hill's Country Club course, but shot a 313 team score over the second round to slip into fourth place. FAU's 616 team score is three shots behind third place Florida Southern University and trails third place Stetson University by five shots. Daytona State College leads the tournament field with a 604 team score.

Freshman Marilyne Cadieux continues her consistent start her collegiate career. She is tied for seventh place after carding rounds of 75 and 77 on Monday. Cadieux has now shot a round in the 70s in all eight rounds played this season.

Junior Elisabetta Bertini shot identical rounds of 76 to join Cadieux in seventh place with a 152 score. Senior Jennifer Norton had a two-over-par 74 in the opening round and is tied for 13th place. Seniors Karine Bolme and Gina Larsen round out the Owls score.

The tournament's final 18-hole round is set for Tuesday, beginning at 8 a.m.
