Women's Golf Starts Lady Panther Intercollegiate in Eighth

Stockbridge, GA - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team opened up play at the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate at Eagles Landing Country Club with a season best round of 315, finishing eighth out of 11 teams. Freshman Anna-Claire Daniels continued her solid play, finishing tied for 10th individually on the 5,842-yard, par 72 course.

Daniels shot front and back nine 38s for a first round 76, seven-strokes behind leader Anna Scott from host Georgia State. June Bolme tied for the third lowest front nine score, 37, before shooting a 41 on the back nine to finish with first-round 78. Jessica Carafiello also recorded an opening round 78, as the duo are tied for 27th. Sandi MacDougall and Julie Cline finished with rounds of 83 and 84, respectively.
 

 

The Lady Owls improved seven-strokes from their previous season low but still trail the leader, GSU, by 21-strokes. Campbell (301) currently holds second place while UAB (302), Yale (305) and Middle Tennessee State (310) round out the top-five.

The final day of the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Eagle's Landing Country Club.
