Women's Golf Finishes Eighth

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL - Florida Atlantic University finished eighth at the Stetson/Mission Inn Classic in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. The Lady Owls posted identical rounds of 325 Monday and Tuesday in the 36-hole event. FAU was led by Natalia Navarro, who placed sixth with a two-round total of 155. The tournament was held at the 6,015-yard, par-72 Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.

Navarro, who posted an 11-over 83 on Monday responded with an even-par 72 on Tuesday. Other finishers for the Lady Owls included Anne Fraser, who fired rounds of 78 and 82 for 160 and a tie for 18th-place. Jessica Carafiello finished tied for 40th with a 166. Heidi von Korff shot 173 while Jaclyn Lucas finished with a 178.

FAU's 650 was two shots behind a contingent of three teams that tied for fifth. Indiana won the tournament with a 614, 19 strokes better than second-place Wisconsin. Florida Atlantic, meanwhile, finished third among the seven Atlantic Sun Conference teams in the field. Only Jacksonville State (641) and Georgia State (648) finished higher than the Lady Owls.
