Women's Golf Gains Ground at A-Sun Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL - Florida Atlantic University's Jessica Polus and Natalia Navarro led all golfers in round two of the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship Tuesday in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. Polus shot an even-par 73 while Navarro fired a one-over 74 at the 6,042-yard Mission Inn - El Campeon Course.

As a team, FAU shot a 312 to move into third place with a two-day total of 631. The Lady Owls trail Campbell by three strokes and Central Florida by seven strokes. FAU entered the day in third place, 12 strokes behind UCF.

Polus is now tied for first, individually, with UCF's Federica Piovano with a two-round total of two-over 148. Navarro's round now has her in fourth-place with a seven-over 153.

Other scores for the Lady Owls on Tuesday included an 81 by Jessica Carafiello while Heidi von Korff posted an 84. Jaclyn Lucas rounded out the FAU contingent with an 88.

The tournament concludes with Wednesday's final round as Florida Atlantic seeks its first trip to the NCAA Tournament.
