Owls Remain in Fifth

April 12, 2005

DELAND, FL - Florida Atlantic University remained in fifth-place at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship after Tuesday's second round. The Owls, just as they did in round one, shot a 316 and trail fourth-place Troy by nine strokes heading into Wednesday's final round. The competition is taking place at the 5,942-yard, par-72 Victoria Hills Golf Club.

Jessica Carafiello posted the best score among FAU's five golfers on Tuesday, shooting a three-over par 75. It was four strokes better than her first round 79 and moved her into a tie for sixth-place individually. June Bolme had a six-over 78 and is tied for eighth overall. Anna-Claire Daniels was the other Owl on Tuesday to break 80 with a 79.

Florida Atlantic currently has a 632 through two rounds. Georgia State leads the field with 609 followed by Campbell with 615. UCF is in third with 616, followed by Troy at 623.

The final round begins Wednesday morning at 7:36 with the first Owl teeing off just after 9:00am.
