Owls Sit in Sixth at A-Sun Championships

DEBARY,FL - Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn fired a 78 during round one of the Atlantic Sun women's golf championship on Monday to lead Florida Atlantic University at DeBary Country Club in DeBary, FL.

Phol-Uayporn shot a 40 on the front-nine and followed it up with a 38 on the back-nine of the par 72, 6,078 yard course to end day one in fifth-place among individual competitors, nine shots behind Alejandra Shaw of Campbell University who paced the field with a round of 69. Phol-Uayporn led all competitors by paring 14 holes.

Sandi MacDougall shot identical 40's for a total of 80 (13th), while June Bolme shot an 82 (22nd) and Kendall Kirby shot an 85 (30th). Kimberly D'Andrea rounded out the Owl's squad with back-to-back 43's for an 18-hole score of 86.

FAU currently sits in sixth as a team (325), 13 shots behind leader Campbell.

The A-Sun Championship will resume Tuesday with the first group teeing off at 7:44 a.m.
