Women's Golf Slips to Fifth

Miami, FL. - Women's Golf struggled in the second round by firing a team total of 322 to slip to fifth place overall at the Ryder Florida Women's College Championships hosted by the University of Miami at Don Shula's Golf Resort. Jessica Carafiello and Natalia Navarro both held onto top-15 spots for the second consecutive day on the par 72, 6317-yard course.

Navarro remained very consistent, shooting a team low round of 78 for the second day to pull to within 11 strokes of the leader, Kristin Tamulis. Carafiello shot a disappointing 80 but is still only nine-strokes behind. Heidi von Korff improved two-strokes from the previous day to fire a 79 and finish in a tie for 24th place. Amanda Pettit and Kendall Kirby both shot 85's.
 

 

Florida State remains the leader with four of its five golfers occupy the top four spots. The Lady Owls though are only 12 strokes behind the University of South Florida for second and lead the University of Central Florida (646) by three points as the top Atlantic Sun Conference school. Rollins College (623) and host Miami (325) finished third and fourth while Stetson (689) placed 12th.

The Lady Owls compete in the final round of the Ryder Florida Women's College Championships on Sunday, April 6.
