Polus Leads Field for Women's Golf

April 5, 2002

MIAMI, FL - Florida Atlantic University is in second place following the first round of the 2002 Ryder Florida Women's Collegiate Championship at Don Shula's Golf and Country Club in Miami Lakes, FL. FAU's Jessica Polus leads the field with a three-under par 69. As a team, FAU shot 304, nine strokes behind leader Florida State and one stroke ahead of third-place Florida. The Lady Owls are first among the four Atlantic Sun Conference teams in the field.

FAU's Natalia Navarro is tied for eighth with a first round score of 75. The 13-team tournament continues with Saturday's second round followed by Sunday's final round.
