Women's Golf Can't Make up Ground, Finishes Eighth at Ryder Championship
April 3, 2005 Miami, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team could finish no better than it did Saturday, matching its second-round 326 in the final round Sunday at the Ryder Florida Collegiate Championship. The second consecutive 326 left the Owls in a tie for eighth place out of 14 teams, the same position they held after competition Saturday. Freshman June Bolme rebounded to shoot a team-leading 78 Sunday, but it was senior Jessica Carafiello who gave FAU its highest individual placement with her three-round total of 237, good for 25th place. Bolme finished a stroke behind her in 26th place with her 238. Host team Miami won the tournament by one stroke with a three-day total of 912. Hurricane Tine Miller placed first among individuals with a 222.
The Owls next compete in the A-Sun Championships in Deland, FL, beginning April 11. Leading Team Scores FAU Individual Results |
