Women's Golf Starts Springlake Invitational

Sebring, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team began the Springlake Invitational on Friday. The two-day event, hosted by Northern Illinois, ended its first day with Owl golfer Praewnapa Phol-Uayporn in second place.

Phol-Uayporn (34, 36 -70) shot 2-under par in the first day of the par 72, 5,920 yard course. Karine Bolme (39, 39 - 78) shot 3-over par on both the front and back nine, completing day one in a tie for 28th. Kimberly D'Andrea (41, 40 -81), June Bolme (39, 43 -82) and Gina Larsen (40, 42 -82) rounded out the FAU field with ties for 40th, 46th, and 46th respectively.

FAU (311) is in eighth place after one day of action. Lynn University (293) is currently in first. Florida Gulf Coast University golfer Heather Hagerman (34, 35 -69) is the individual leader, shooting 3-under par after one round of action.

The Owls will conclude the two-day event Saturday afternoon.
