![]() Dugan Announces Hiring of New Assistant
June 13, 2006 BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University head women's basketball coach Chancellor Dugan has announced the hiring of Mollie Kahn as an assistant coach. Kahn brings six years of coaching and recruiting experience, all in the state of Florida. She has previously served a two-year stint each at Florida Southern College, Jacksonville University and Lynn University. "Mollie Kahn is a great addition to our staff, not only with recruiting but also on the court," stated Dugan. "She's a very strong fundamentals coach. You can't miss the opportunity to bring someone on board who has the kind of experience and talent that Mollie does. She has six years of assistant coaching experience in the state of Florida and will make an immediate impact on FAU basketball." Kahn came to FAU from Florida Southern, where she served as an assistant coach from 2004 to 2006, overseeing recruiting and working with FSC's guards. From 2002 to 2004, Kahn was an assistant coach at Jacksonville, managing travel, scouting and film exchange, and assisting both backcourt and frontcourt players with skill development. Her coaching career began at Lynn, where she was a graduate assistant from 2000 to 2002. In addition to her coaching duties, Kahn served as the team's nutrition specialist and developed its strength and conditioning program. Kahn played for four seasons at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. A captain for three seasons, she was a member of Truman State's 22-9 team that set the school record for wins and reached the finals of the 1999 NCAA Division II Regional. Kahn graduated summa cum laude from Truman State in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, earning all-conference academic honors every year. She completed her master's degree in Business Administration at Lynn in 2002.
A native of Newton, IA, Kahn graduated from Newton High School in 1996, earning all-conference honors and helping her team to a state tournament appearance in 1994. She also was a three-time state qualifier in swimming. |
