Women's Basketball Visits Landmark Elementary in Dothan
March 8, 2006 DOTHAN, AL --- One day before playing in the opening round of the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament, the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team visited the Landmark Elementary School in Dothan, AL to host a special assembly for the children of the school. "I was flattered to be asked by Principal William Brown," head coach Chancellor Dugan said. "I know we had a great time as team and I know the kids seemed to really enjoy the event as well. It is always a good feeling to give back to the community of Dothan, which has done such a nice job of hosting our team for the last three years." Coach Dugan spoke to the kids about the importance of education and teamwork, before the team took the children through fun passing drills. "The players jelled so well with our kids," Principal Brown said. "Coach Dugan delivered a wonderful message to our students and it was special seeing their faces light up when they stepped out their on the court with her players." Principal Brown, who plans on being in attendance for tomorrow's game against Jacksonville, is also the uncle of junior forward Demina Anderson.
