Women's Basketball in Home Finale

March 5, 2004

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University concludes its regular season Saturday night when it hosts Jacksonville University. Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm at FAU Gymnasium. The evening will feature senior night as Janka Deckerova, Corinth Evans, Julie Goad, DeeAnna Hanscom, and Trineca McCleod will all be recognized prior to the game. FAU has already clinched a spot in next week's Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament. Depending on Saturday's action, FAU will be anywhere between a no. 5 and no. 8 seed.

The Lady Owls (11-15, 10-9 A-Sun) are coming off a 72-66 victory over Stetson on Thursday night. Four Lady Owls scored in double-figures with Jackie Brown leading the way with 17 points. Sharia Young added 13. McCleod leads the team with 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Shontavia Williams is second with 12.4ppg.

Jacksonville enters the game 3-23 overall and 1-18 in the A-Sun. The Dolphins lone A-Sun win came against Troy State on February 19. JU is 0-11 on the road. Yolisha Jackson is the team's leading scorer with 12.6ppg.

FAU leads the all-time series 7-2 and defeated JU earlier in the year, 80-43, in Jacksonville. The Lady Owls have won three of the four games played between the two teams at FAU Gymnasium.

The A-Sun Tournament runs March 11-13 at the Dothan Civic Center in Dothan, AL. For more information on the tournament, fans can go to www.atlanticsun.org.

Tickets are available at the door. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for seniors/children.
