BOCA RATON, FL -- The final home games of the season await the three senior members of the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team this week. Amanda Bulin, Shontavia Williams, and Sharia Young will play their final game at FAU Arena when the Owls battle the Campbell Camels on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.

"All three of these players have been very special to me and this team," head coach Chancellor Dugan said. "Sharia has been with us for four years and has continued to battle through multiple injuries. Amanda is the personality of our team on and off the court and has really emerged as a leader this season and Tay ( Shontavia Williams ) has been one of the most special players I have ever coached."
 

 

Before hosting the Camels, the Owls will welcome the Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb to FAU Arena on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7:00 p.m. FAU (14-9, 13-3 A-Sun) has won eight out of its last nine games and have secured a spot in the Atlantic Sun Tournament for the seventh straight season under Coach Dugan.

The Owls beat the Bulldogs 64-55 on Jan. 28 to improve to 4-2 all-time against GWU. Demina Anderson scored a career-high 15 points and also added a career-best seven free throws in the win. Missy Glaser chipped in 12 points and Bulin posted 10 points of her own for FAU.

Jessica Bryant led the Bulldogs with 18 points in the first meeting, but the Owls' defense held the `Dogs top scorer Shameka Smith to just six points as GWU shot only 31.3 % (15-48) from the floor.

In addition to being Senior Night on Saturday, Feb. 25 the Owls' have teamed up with American Cancer Society in the annual Hoops for Hope program. A portion of all ticket sales to the game vs. Campbell will be donated to the ACS to help fight the battle against cancer.

FAU has won four out of the last five meetings against the Camels, including a 73-63 victory on Jan. 26 of this season. The Owls' had three players score in double-figures in the first match up as Williams posted 18 points, while Bulin and Glaser added 14 points each.

Campbell (10-15, 9-8 A-Sun) was led by Jennifer Lodge and Letitia Dickson in the opening meeting of the season with 28 combined points. The Camels top scorer is Adrienne Riley with 11.5 points per game, but she was limited to just four points the first time around.
