In her final season of basketball at Florida Atlantic University, Kristy Halvorsen has been named to the Academic All-District Second Team. The senior center from Tallahassee, FL was selected by CoSIDA, College Sports Information Directors Association, after holding a 3.71 GPA in mechanical engineering and averaging 10.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Halvorsen is the current Atlantic Sun Player-of-the-Week after averaging 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in two road wins for the Lady Owls. The 23 rebounds moved her into second place all-time behind Tiffany Collins with 543 career rebounds.

FAU is currently 13-11 overall and 11-5 in the A-Sun, one game behind first-place Belmont. The Lady Owls have already set a team record for conference road wins and need three victories to set the team record for overall wins since moving to Division I.
