Lady Owls Seeking Third Straight Win

Feb. 20, 2004

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University will look to build on its two-game winning streak when it hosts Campbell University Saturday night at FAU Gymnasium at 7:00pm. FAU enters the game 8-14 overall and 7-8 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Lady Owls have won five of their last seven games.

FAU is coming off Thursday's 72-53 win over Gardner-Webb, a game in which FAU never trailed. Shontavia Williams once again led the Lady Owls with 19 points. The sophomore has averaged 21.5 points in her last two outings. Williams is averaging 12.2 points which is second behind team leader Trineca McCleod who is averaging 14.9ppg.

Campbell enters the game 9-14 overall and 7-9 in the Atlantic Sun. The Camels have lost two straight and three of four to drop behind FAU in ninth-place in the A-Sun. Kristal Troy leads Campbell with 10.3 points per game. The next leading scorer is Jennifer Lodge with 7.0ppg. Campbell averages just 57.8ppg.

Campbell leads the all-time series 11-7. FAU defeated the Camels, 80-78, January 17 in Buies Creek, NC. FAU has won four of the past five meetings. The Lady Owls are 4-3 at FAU Gymnasium.

The winner of this game will significantly increase its chances of securing a spot in the A-Sun Tournament. An FAU victory would give it a two-game lead over Campbell in the loss column and the season series sweep.

Tickets are available at the door. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and children.
